A brief beauty

I noticed this flower about 15 feet up, buried in tumbling bougainvillea,  one morning before work.
Katy said it was a cactus flower and that the bloom lasts only 24 hours.
After work I thought I would get another  photo on my phone for Facebook but alas it was a wilted mass of nothing.
Another of nature's many wonders.

It was about the size of a brunch plate.
